When a top executive is charged for corruption or a church minister is caught in the very act of adultery, you will probably hear the phrase “fallen from grace” being used of them. We have come to believe that when someone falls into sin, he falls from grace.
But God wants us to know that when someone falls into sin, he does not fall from grace—he actually falls into grace! Thank God His grace is there to put the person back on his feet.
The Bible tells of prostitutes and corrupt tax collectors—sinners—who fell into God’s grace and got back on their feet. If the sin in their lives could stop God’s grace, they would never have been able to receive His grace of healing, help and power to live right.
Now, it is important you understand that God hates sin because it destroys our lives, relationships and bodies. Sin is evil! But sin is not overcome by us talking about it and relying on our willpower to overcome it. It takes God’s grace to destroy sin. In fact, it is when you are under His grace that sin has no dominion over you. (Romans 6:14) It is when you see His grace in providing His Son to put away your sins and make you eternally righteous that sin will not dominate you.
The devil will say to you, “You think that you can still expect God’s blessings after what you did this morning?” That is when you must remind yourself that Christ alone is your perfection and righteousness. All of us have faults. None of us deserve God’s blessings. That is why we plead the grace of God, which is His unearned, unmerited and undeserved favor toward us.
Sin does not and cannot stop God’s grace. If His grace can be cut off by sin, Jesus would never have come to save us because we were all terrible sinners. But praise God, “where sin abounded, grace abounded much more”!
My friend, God’s grace is bigger, deeper, wider and more powerful than all the world’s sins put together. Receive His grace right now to walk in total victory over that weakness or evil habit in your life!

Amen! I watched Joseph Prince and although I disagree with some of what he says, his basic premise is correct. Either the blood of the Lamb is enough or it isn’t. Oh it is, it truly is! Sin is an opportunity to avail ourselves of grace, we’re all going to fall short, and how lovely it would be if we simply allowed grace to come in flow over us, each and every time. That’s what heals us, that’s what brings us back to health.
So profoundly true: His Grace is what heals us!
What will become of us if His blood isn’t enough…God forbid.
[aside: atheists delight in saying there are over 40,000 denominations within Christianity, so we all believe different things…
I say, and within all those 40,000 denominations you will not find two people who think the same because we’re all individuals…
for me it’s okay to have differences as long as we agree on the basics: Christ Jesus is Lord, He came to earth as a man, lived, died, and resurrected (defeated death)… and their in lies our hope and the point at which we’re unified ]
Nice post my friend. I so believe the doctrine of eternal security is clearly, clearly, clearly taught in scripture. Once Jesus has us, He never lets us go. I would even go so far as to say once we are His, we can no longer walk away of our own accord.
There is danger in teaching otherwise. How can we serve effectively if our entire life is nothing more than a scramble to keep our selves saved?
But, the real danger I see is……if we are not secure, who sets the rules for what would cause us to fall from salvation? Where is the list? I will tell you who makes the list. Some person, who then controls you by virtue of the fact that he or she is the list keeper.

There is absolute danger in teaching otherwise. Being never assured of one’s own salvation is unbelief in Christ Jesus’ finished work [seriously, what can any man add to what Jesus has done… because all we’re saying is what he did was great but not enough 😦 ].
It’s nothing but self-righteousness in thinking we need to add our own relative goodness to His.
Who sets the rules is a brilliant point as that person has now exalted themselves as god.

But you know…I ask that when people start debating with me on the issue, and nobody ever answers. I want the list.
The answer is quite easy, but those who believe we can fall from our salvation don’t like it. If one puny sin was enough to separate us from God in the first place(and it was), then one puny sin would be enough to pull us away if it were possible.
What kind of Christian life would that be?

We’ve been bonded out by Christ Jesus and need not be put into new bondage by wrong doctrine.

I think people reject this doctrine because, with human understanding, it doesn’t make sense and/or seem fair. I think the logic goes like this.
1. I accepted Jesus, I can reject Him too.
2. I’ve failed to many times to deserve grace.
The first one of these is a lie we tell ourselves, the second is a lie Satan tells us.
I absolutely get and believe that we cannot lose our salvation but I also get why some do not. Those who do not need to let go of their pride and fully believe what The Word days.
As far as “40,000 denominations” goes, I really wish people would stop saying there are that many Christian sects, it’s not even close to being true.

As mentioned to IB, it doesn’t bother me anymore when others mention the “many” denominations… because even within a relationship where 2 are as 1… there’s still differences of opinion on somethings. So the reality is: every individual that make up a sect is still a unique human being… [and we’re in the process of being refined so that we maintain our uniqueness while acting as one – the manifested beauty of the bride of Christ]
