Godlessness and End Times Deceptions

…Knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires. 2 Peter 3:3

See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception [pseudo-intellectual babble], according to the tradition [and musings] of mere men, following the elementary principles of this world, rather than following [the truth—the teachings of] Christ. Colossians 2:8

The following excerpt was taken from a post of one claiming to be a “closet atheist Christian missionary female” :

God to us:

“You’re not enough.  You should be dead.  You should burn.  You are a horrible person.  There is so much evil in you.  You are evil.  Don’t trust yourself.  Don’t trust your emotions. Don’t trust your judgement.  It isn’t good enough, it could be evil and most likely is.  You will ruin yourself.  And everyone and everything around you.

“But don’t worry, just be in relationship with me.  Then it’ll get better.  You’ll get better.  Then you can say you’re sorry as often as you want!   And as long as you do so often enough and really actually be sorry, then I’ll let you be close to me.  Basically, you should just be in a constant state of sorry.  Because everything you do is covered by your stench of evil sin, so I have to go back over it and smear my son’s blood all over it to cover up the horrible smell that is you.

The rest of that garbage wasn’t worth pursuing… you already get the idea.

Seriously, is this the caliber of people (dangerous filthy liars) that some churches are sending out as ambassadors ( as representatives) of Christ to the nations!?

But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people2 Timothy 3

“And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.” Matthew 11:16

… who do not have to make up reckless, treacherous, disgusting lies in order to create offense.

  1. Thank you, this post was most appreciated. I have been rather horrified a few times by people claiming Christ’s name but actually seeming to be working as a kind of double agent. Needless to say, if I believed any of the things being written, I’d probably flee from Jesus myself.

    1. Thanks for reading and your feedback.

Christ Jesus told us that while men slept (whether spiritually, or just not paying attention) the enemy came and planted his tares amongst the wheat.

So I absolutely agree with you about these people who come in His name claiming ‘He is the Christ’ while leading many astray.

Regarding your last sentence; that’s the part I’m having a bit of difficulty with – do these people really believe this garbage they spout.
I mean that genuinely, because although they claim to be ‘logical’ and good ‘thinkers’… it doesn’t matter how many times these crazy ideas about God are corrected, they still cling to these horrendous ‘beliefs’ as though no one ever corrected them.

Which leads me to think, clinging to these absolutely foolish and unscriptural ideas serves a purpose for them.

      1. I am always asking these questions, too. Is this ignorance or just outright evil? From a moral perspective, I believe they are simply without excuse. No matter how wounded or broken you are, it is never okay to go around telling other people that God is not good or that He doesn’t exist or whatever. That hurts other people,it causes them to doubt, it creates more misery in the world, it leads others astray. It’s selfishness. Misery loves company and these people are trying to create company for their misery, people who will validate their flawed thinking.

      2. That’s my point exactly.

I’ve come to see these people as wicked.
It’s one thing to be religiously indoctrinated… but they have access to the internet and can find the truth like other people.
Clinging to outrageous lies, and repeating stuff that’s not even from scripture to make their point is unconscionable.

And the fact that they’re actively trying to ‘de-evangelize’ others out of a relationship with their Creator and Savior shows their true motivations.

Pure selfishness is exactly what it is – and they’ll be totally without excuse.

  2. It amazes me the number of people who are “closet atheists.” Maybe they aren’t about their lack of belief as they say they are. Of course, there are some “closet christians,” too, and I suppose we could ask the same thing. Great post

    1. Thanks Wally.
Great point about the “closet Christian” as well. And this is another reason I love Jesus because He doesn’t mince words here.
He specifically said, those who would deny Him (or they’re ashamed of Him before men), He’ll do the same before the Father.
The “closet Christian” is much different than the “underground Christian.”

There are some people who do not care to know whether or not God exists, and if He did, they’d still not want a relationship with Him.

The “atheists” I’ve encountered on the internet are not these people.
These people know there’s a God! They deliberately repeat lies and nonsense because they foolishly believe it gives them an excuse.

      1. Well, me and my enter key are going to fight LOL. Yup. Underground Christian-one who has to stay down low for fear of death or other real persecution. Closet Christian-one who is just scared somebody might call them a name, or do something truly heinous like ask them to support their belief, or even worse one who is scared that showing their belief might require a change in lifestyle.

      2. Exactly!
HAHAHA – I predict you’ll win… but having had issues with several computer keys, I’m kinda rethinking that prediction.
