Let is not Automatic

In scripture we’re given the command to “Let” something take place within our lives. Most of us think these commands will automatically come to pass without us continuously and actively giving them permission to come into being.

John 14:1 – Let not your heart be troubled: you believe in God, believe also in Me.

Philippians 2:5 – Let this mind be in you that’s also in Christ Jesus.

The word of God is our foundation, and our lives are transformed and will withstand testing based upon what we have chosen to build upon that foundation.

Matthew 5:16 Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

We have to ‘let’  by giving the word of God permission to transform us from the inside out. It is the word of God that causes our minds to be renewed and causes us to think godly thoughts and to do what Jesus does and commands us.

So, it’s up to each of us to daily and moment by moment give permission to “let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.” Psalm 19:14
