Fulfilling the Law Through Love

Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law. For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covet,” and any other commandment, are summed up in this word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. Romans 13

“In context, Paul was speaking about paying our taxes, respect, and honor (Romans 13:7). However, this principle holds true in every area of our lives. We are to pay our bills. Notice that Paul spoke of love for others as a debt. This is not optional. We are commanded to love one another. Indeed, this is the royal law of God (James 2:8).”

[If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing well.]
