(From a comment I made elsewhere, figured I’d use it as a post):
Often, when believers hear a “good/revelatory word” we’ll say things like: that was some good meat. But was it really – good meat – just hearing the word?
Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of Him that sent me, and to finish His work. John 4:34
So there we have it from the master’s mouth – when we keep/do His commandments [which are not at all burdensome], that’s the meat of the word. It’s action.
As the Apostle James says, do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.
