Arise and Shine

Arise, shine, for your light (The Lord Jesus Christ) has come, and the glory (the manifested presence) of the Lord has risen upon you.
For behold, darkness (falsehood and ignorance) shall cover the earth, and thick darkness (misery and gloom) the peoples; but the Lord will arise upon you, and His glory (His manifested presence)will be seen upon you.
And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.  Isaiah 60:1-3

Can this be what we’re experiencing right now. There is so much falsehood and ignorance spreading around the world right now and the people who do not know God are going through life fearful, stressful, miserable and gloomy.

Then Jesus spoke to them again saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life. John 8:12

When we’ve received The Lord Jesus, we’ve received that light, and we must allow that light (The Lord Jesus Christ) to shine through us.

Child of God know that now is that time to let that light shine as we are living in a world that is getting darker day by day. None of this misery will  affect those who are prepared, those who are kept in perfect peace because their mind is firmly fixed on the Lordship of Christ Jesus.

Preparation is knowing there is a battle and planning accordingly. The believer knows the attack is coming. The world doesn’t care to know nor believe any of this, which is why they’re caught totally unprepared. Every soldier trains ahead of time before the day of battle.

Ephesians 6 tells us how to be and remain prepared for battle and also tells us the weapons we need to use in this warfare.

Put on the full armor of God to protect yourselves from the devil and his evil schemes.  We’re not waging war against enemies of flesh and blood alone…

And this is why you need to be head-to-toe in the full armor of God: so you can resist during these evil days and be fully prepared to hold your ground. Yes, stand—truth banded around your waist, righteousness as your chest plate, and feet protected in preparation to proclaim the good news of peace. Don’t forget to raise the shield of faith above all else, so you will be able to extinguish flaming spears hurled at you from the wicked one. Take also the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other’s spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out.

As things in the world become darker and darker, the brighter our light will become and the people and rulers of this world will see our light ( the light of the world dwells in us).

Yes, just like the world, things will come against us (economic strife, wars, pestilence, etc.), but we have a God who has made a way for us to overcome and to be victorious. We have His peace that is beyond any human’s ability to comprehend. We have His righteousness and thus His authority to cause circumstances and things to submit to or flee His Name. We have His Word and His truth that abides forever.

The victory is already ours.

  1. Oh Amen! Great words to see on my monitor screen this morning. What an encouragement they were. Seems the evil surrounds us from all directions, and knowing we have won in advance relieves that burden so much. Thanks for this!

    1. Thanks for such a great summary Wally!
It’s more tolerable fighting when you already know the outcome.
Have a blessed day filled with His favor.
