Many Flavors, One Fruit

water“As free people [in Christ Jesus], the Spirit gives us the characteristics of Jesus; we, too, can freely love in joy and peace. We can have patience along with kindness and faithfulness that can only come from the Father. We can reflect the goodness of God while being gentle in operating with self-control. For those who follow Him and live in the Spirit, these characteristics or fruits are a gift from God. As we grow in the faith, we find that we belong to God and can walk daily in the Spirit.”

Voice Commentary

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. Gal 5:22-23

Joy is  love rejoicing

Peace is love resting

Patience is love enduring

Kindness is love caring

Goodness is love motivating

Faith(fullness) is love trusting

Gentleness is love esteeming (others)

Self-Control is love restraining (power under control)

    1. Thank you 🙂
Unfortunately, I don’t know the poem and just did an unsuccessful quick search to apprise myself.

      Continue in His abundant blessings!

      1. 🙂 Aha!… understand now.
You’re right, it does read like a poem and who knows, perhaps Jen Clark meant it as such.
My takeaway was that in all these expressions of the inner-man (our spirit), at the center of it all lies LOVE. These are all expressions of love.

Another gem I just heard: (joy, peace, patience, kindness etc.) are fruit of the Spirit; not fruit of the intellect. I think you’ll agree many times we try to produce these expressions from mental knowledge instead of them being restful outflow from our spirit.

Blessings & appreciate the clarification 🙂
